Exercise keeps me on top of my game. Keeps my mind sharp, helps me to stay in good health and good spirits. In fact, I think I might just crawl up into a ball and cry myself to sleep if it wasn’t for my regular endorphin rush. Sound a little extreme? Well, this is my personal blog – and I can give you my personal experience, right?
This healthy addiction to exercise began at around age 16 with a desire to be fit and beautiful ~ as most young women strive to be. Thankfully I really liked food, so starving myself was never part of my regimen. Instead I studied healthy eating and began to exercise regularly. At 18 I would drive over to Philadelphia to go into the dance clubs and dance from the time they played the first song to close. I’d dance for 4 or 5 hours straight ~ drinking nothing but ice water and riding the endorphin rush. Sound wacky? Don’t care ~ this is MY reality.
Throughout college I kept sane by hitting the gym a few times a week, and hitting the trails behind the campus. I know these workouts helped to keep me from gaining a ridiculous amount of weight – cause remember… I like to eat!
There is a good correlation between those who regularly exercise and a healthy diet as well. If you are hitting the gym and running, you KNOW you must fuel your body properly. You feel absolutely horrid otherwise.
So fast forward to Mom of two and gonna be 35 in just a few hours… and I can tell you that if it wasn’t for my workouts I would not be where I am today! I’m home, self employed, living life by design.
Today, I head to the gym 4 or 5 mornings a week to do some sort of fun exercise like Zumba, kickboxing, and even the not so fun womens strength training. I often head in there with racing mind and a body that is holding onto the stress of the day before. By the time I am halfway through I feel the endorphins flood in, and the happy thoughts begin to flow. The creative problem solving part of my mind kicks in and divine inspiration begins to download into an open, happy mind. Some of my most profitable ideas were conceived while in the middle of a Zumba class … who woulda thought?
I’m still dancing…
If I sit in front of my computer, my mind and creativity begins to stagnate. If I workout, I return to work enthusiastic about the task at hand.
My point of this long, personal post about why I simply must workout, or my life falls apart??? To inspire you ~ If you feel that the words ’stagnate, blue, depressed, bored, or unhealthy’ resonate with you and your current lifestyle ~ try incorporating some exercise into your life.
The human body is not at all designed to sit ~ to be lazy. It is meant to move and do physical work. Our entire physiology was created in such a way that if we do gentle exercise and eat healthily, we can live an optimum life.
If you know you are on the other extreme, start with moving some – on a regular basis. If you are eating junk ~ its because your mind really craves the endorphin rush and you are getting it from the foods you are eating. If you give it the endorphins in a regular workout – you can begin to SHIFT your diet to one that will actually add years to your life, instead of killing you slowly.
Why do I care? Because I truly do want to see all people fit, healthy and happy – as we were designed. Your potential really is squashed if you aren’t exercising – and you were designed for greatness.
Hey, its almost my birthday. Give me a present and tell me you have committed to getting in shape. You don’t have to be like I was at 18… dancing hours on end. But commit to something. Cause You Love You

Wellness Company Sets Goal to Donate 100,000 Healthy Meals to Children in Need
LOS ANGELES, CA – November 18th, 2009 – ViSalus Sciences has made another step towards bringing its mission of Prosperity to families in need. From Fusion Academy, a ViSalus national convention in Tampa, Florida, CEO Ryan Blair announced a new initiative that will leverage the company’s Vi-Shape® Nutritional Shake Mix to provide, healthy nutrition to children from coast to coast. The Body by Vi™ Community Challenge has set a goal of donating 100,000 children’s meals through a network of local Distributors working with charitable organizations in their communities. For as little as 50 cents per meal, ViSalus Distributors and Customers can make a donation to be matched meal for meal by ViSalus.
The Challenge was given a head start towards this goal by Co-Founders Ryan Blair, Nick Sarnicola, and Blake Mallen, who together pledged the first 15,000 meals on stage today. “Our company is founded in name and spirit on the pillars of Life, Health, and Prosperity,” said ViSalus Chief Marketing Officer Blake Mallen. “To us, Prosperity is about much more than financial freedom; it’s about the ability to give back to the people and causes that touch your heart.”
Chief Sales Officer Nick Sarnicola is humbled to have an opportunity to combine the benefits of ViSalus products with the giving spirit of the ViSalus community. “To have great products is one thing,” said Sarnicola. “To have a great product that children can benefit from and enjoy is another. For our community to make this product available for free to the children who need it most is the ultimate form of contribution we can achieve.”
ViSalus Founder Ryan Blair was inspired to take this cause to the masses after a recent trip to Jamaica showed him what a difference the ViSalus community could make. “There are too many children in this world who don’t have a fighting chance because they simply don’t have the means to get the nutrition their bodies need each day. To succeed at school, on the athletic field, or simply to grow up to be healthy, nothing is more important than nutrition, and I hope the children of the world know we don’t plan on stopping at 100,000 meals,” said Blair.
About ViSalus Sciences® ViSalus Sciences®, with headquarters in Troy, Michigan and Los Angeles, CA, is a leading Weight Management and Nutritional Supplement maker utilizing the direct selling channel to distribute its products. I was sent this email earlier today that I had to share with you…
The following article is an excerpt from a speech given by a direct seller at a local meeting. We are told she was asked to speak on how direct sales/network marketing compares to working a “regular” job. It was submitted to us, and although the original author is unknown, we wish to thank her for her thoughts and insights. We have forwarded it to share with you as you embark on a brand new opportunity to count the many blessings we have in this business.
Is Network Marketing Difficult?
Lately, I have heard so many people say how difficult direct sales/network marketing is. “It’s hard.” “I can’t get bookings.” “This just isn’t for me.” “I didn’t know how difficult it would be.”
Well, I am a single mom of three who, before joining the direct sales/network marketing family, held down two jobs. I would get up at 4:00 in the morning and not get to bed until midnight most nights, after returning from my part-time retail job, packing lunches, checking homework and relieving my mother, who helped out with the kids.
That, my friends, is difficult.
It is difficult always having to lower your dreams to meet your means. It is difficult to miss your son’s football game because you have to work. It is difficult knowing the rust bucket you call a car is eating you alive in maintenance, but you can’t afford a new one. It is difficult to realize that someone else is going to watch your daughter take her first step or have your son say mama to the preschool teacher.
It is difficult knowing that you have spent 40 years of your life working for someone else, only to realize that you will be retiring on one-third of what you can live on today. Or, worse yet, it is difficult knowing that you have diligently worked all your life, only to be given an early retirement and be replaced by someone younger, more capable.
I will tell you what is difficult. It is difficult waking up one morning and realizing that your children, the most precious things imaginable, no longer need bottles, diapers, have tea parties, or are shorter than the baseball bat they are trying to swing. It is difficult realizing it is too late and that the time frittered away can never be retrieved. It slips through our fingers one second at a time.
It is also difficult watching the spark in your partner’s eyes fade because both of you realize the house you have been wanting is just a dream because someone else is controlling your finances.
We have nasty habits about rationalizing, procrastination and skirting important things, rather than facing the issues. Too often we allow others who do not pay our bills, who do not share our dreams, to direct our futures.
As children we have absolutely no freedom; we rebel in our teens and scream for freedom. We reach adulthood and are finally free, only to relinquish that freedom because we think it is too difficult. We do not want to take responsibility. We do not want to make a wrong decision, so we obligingly give that awesome power to someone else. We wake up too late. We hear ourselves uttering phrases like: “I wish I had only…” And “If I could do it over again…”
You have no one but yourself to blame. You had the chance. Perhaps the Opportunity was presented many times and each time you elevated the trivial to a higher priority than yourself.
Let me ask you: Is direct sales/network marketing really difficult?
Is it so traumatic to show someone an exciting product or idea? Is it so difficult to understand that if you work this marketing idea for three to five years, you just might finally be able to send your children to a college chosen by excellence, rather than one chosen by price? That you could finally put your family in the home of their dreams?
Would you work really hard for eight to ten years, so you could mold a lifestyle of your choosing, so your family could live a lifestyle of their dreams, rather than trying to live how someone else thinks you should live?
How difficult is it to pick up the phone and call your business partner? How difficult is it to pack up your kit and meet some new friends? How difficult is it, really, to share what you love with others? Think about it.
Realize the awesome power you have in your hands with direct sales/network marketing. There are people out there working three jobs. There are people drowning in debt; or agonizing through bankruptcy, realizing they only needed a couple hundred more dollars per month. That is difficult!!
This business you have chosen has the ability to change lives. Direct sales/network marketing cannot do anything. But YOU can change lives with it. You are the one with the life-changing ability. What are you waiting for?
There is difficulty and pain in success, and there is difficulty and pain in failure. Difficulty and pain in success will last a short period of time but pain in failure lasts a lifetime. Which one is really more difficult?
You will pay a price for your actions and your choices.
Chose a company that gives you the tools you need to build your business. If you have been searching, search no more! ViSalus is a community of amazing people all striving for Life, Health and Prosperity.
